According to Bijie.com, World (formerly Worldcoin) has announced the release of World ID v4.0, introducing an account abstraction architecture into its protocol system. This upgrade transforms World ID from a single-key mechanism to an abstract record in the public registry "WorldIDRegistry," supporting multiple authorized keys and allowing users to generate authentication credentials on different devices or platforms. World states that the core improvements in the new version include: support for multi-key and multi-validator management, increasing flexibility while maintaining the same identity; enhanced protocol resilience by introducing key rotation, revocation, and optional recovery proxy mechanisms; the launch of a web-based reference validator to simplify the browser experience; enhanced privacy protection by generating one-time null values through OPRF nodes; and the addition of a trusted party registry to help validators identify request sources, prevent phishing attacks, and lay the foundation for a future protocol fee mechanism.
